Summary

Biden Administration executive order establishing federal framework for safe and trustworthy AI. Required federal agencies to designate Chief AI Officers and publish AI use case inventories. Defined rights-impacting AI and established requirements for additional safeguards. Subsequently repealed by the Trump Administration but had already influenced SSA's governance approach including appointment of a Chief AI Officer.
